Carb Off-loading

With just 3 days to go to the Brighton Marathon it's time I cut out carbohydrates from my diet completely!

I accept that this is perhaps taking things a bit far; after all my normal limit of 50 grams of carbs per day is pretty low, and one day I plan to experiment with "train low, race high"; but for now I am continuing to make the point that we do not need carbs at all to run a decent marathon.

I ran 3:32 two weeks back and hope to do a little better on Sunday.

It's all OK now - strenuous running is good for you again!

Remember how the BBC stated that strenuous running was as bad for you as doing no exercise at all?

Well it turns out that both the BBC and the scientist are now admitting that they were wrong and blaming each other. This is a a fine example of non-science and rubbish journalism.

The scientist blames the journo for not understanding his findings and the journo says that scientists should not put shock-horror words in their papers as journalists can't be expected to read scientific reports. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-32160231

Who should we trust?  lchf4runners!
